The Tandem, KB-14 and PM-5 instruments, crafted in Finland, combine precision accuracy with fast, easy operation. Heavy-duty housings are flat and compact with no protruding or adjustable parts. Needle cards are immersed in a special damping fluid to ensure vibration less, smooth movement. Needle cards pivot on polished sapphire tips. Bearing assembly is virtually "wear-free," while liquid remains clear with low viscosity under all conditions. The Aluminum housing protects against impact, corrosion and water. The body has camera tripod threads and is supplied with a neck lanyard and case.

World Compass Zones

Suunto makes Compasses for 5 distinct magnetic zones. Compasses need to be balanced for the zone of the world that they will be working. This is due to changes in the magnetic field affecting the position of the compass needle. When you use ANY compass outside of the area it has been calibrated, you may receive false readings. The Global Compass MC-2G is an exception due to the unique design of the needle.
